Abstract

Stunting remains a significant health issue in Indonesia, particularly among children under five years of age. One of the important factors in preventing stunting is mothers’ knowledge about this condition, especially regarding appropriate feeding practices. This study aims to analyze the relationship between mothers’ knowledge of stunting and feeding patterns among toddlers in Kapitu Village. This research used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique was total sampling, involving 79 mothers who have children aged 6–59 months. The instrument used was a questionnaire assessing mothers’ knowledge of stunting and feeding practices. The results showed that most mothers had a moderate level of knowledge (39.2%), and the majority also applied appropriate feeding practices (88.6%). Statistical analysis using the Spearman Rank test indicated a significant relationship between mothers’ knowledge of stunting and feeding patterns among toddlers, with a p-value of 0.001 < 0.05. This study recommends enhancing maternal education regarding stunting to strengthen their understanding in supporting healthy and appropriate feeding practices for toddlers. Future research is recommended to further examine factors such as education, family economic status, parental attitudes, and level of care.

 Masalah stunting masih menjadi isu kesehatan yang signifikan di Indonesia, khususnya pada anak usia di bawah lima tahun. Salah satu faktor yang berperan penting dalam pencegahan stunting adalah pengetahuan ibu mengenai kondisi ini, terutama dalam hal pola pemberian makanan yang sesuai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui analisa hubungan pengetahuan ibu mengenai stunting dengan pola pemberian makanan pada balita di Desa Kapitu. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara total sampling. Sampel terdiri dari 79 ibu yang memiliki anak usia 6-59 bulan. Instrument yang digunakan adalah kuesioner pengetahuan ibu mengenai stunting dengan pola pemberian makanan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar ibu memiliki pengetahuan cukup (39,2%) dan sebagian besar juga menerapkan pola pemberian makanan yang tepat (88,6%). Uji statistic menggunakan Spearman Rank menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan ibu mengenai stunting dengan pola pemberian makanan pada balita dangan p value 0,001 < 0,05. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan edukasi ibu mengenai stunting guna memperkuat pemahaman mereka dalam menunjang praktik pemberian makan yang sehat dan tepat pada balita. Rekomendasi yang perlu di teliti lebih lanjut dalam penelitian selanjutnya adalah faktor seperti pendidikan, ekonomi keluarga, sikap dan kepedulian orang tua.
