KEBERADAAN TINGKAT KESADARAN PADA SISTEM PEMANTAUAN KEGAWATAN DI RUANG INTENSIF

Abstract

Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) merupakan salah satu skala yang dapat digunakan untuk menentukan tingkat kesadaran seorang melalui tiga komponen utamanya, yaitu respon mata, respon verbal, dan respon motorik. Sedangkan pada area intensif di departemen medikal dan bedah, Early Warning Score (EWS) adalah suatu sistem pemantauan yang dapat dijadikan pedoman dalam pemantauan kegawatan kondisi pasien di rumah sakit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui korelasi tingkat kesadaran dan sistem pemantauan kegawatan pasien di ruang intensif medikal dan bedah. Metode yang digunakan ialah metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian observasional analitik melalui desain cross-sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampelnya ialah non-probability sampling dengan pendekatan convenience sampling, jumlah sampel yang dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 87 pasien. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara perubahan tingkat kesadaran dan sistem pemantauan kegawatan pasien di ruang intensif medikal dan bedah dengan nilai p=0,000 dimana p<0,05, serta memiliki nilai keeratan r=-0,511 yang berarti terdapat hubungan yang sedang dengan arah hubungan negatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat direkomendasikan kepada petugas kesehatan khususnya perawat yang bertugas di ruangan intensif bahwa perubahan kesadaran dapat dijadikan indikator awal dalam melakukan pemantauan kondisi kegawatan pasien. Selanjutnya, perlu analisis tambahan untuk menentukan pengaruh perubahan tingkat kesadaran pada kondisi kegawatan pasien atau melakukan penelitian ini di ruang perawatan lainnya.

ABSTRACT

Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) is one of the scales that can be used to determine the level of consciousness of a person through its three main components, namely eye response, verbal response, and motor response. While in the intensive area in the medical and surgical department, Early Warning Score (EWS) is a monitoring system that can be used as a guideline in monitoring the severity of patient conditions in the hospital. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the level of consciousness and the monitoring system for patient emergencies in the medical and surgical intensive rooms. The method used is a quantitative method with the type of analytic observational research through a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique was non-probability sampling with a convenience sampling approach, the number of samples involved in this study were 87 patients. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between changes in the level of consciousness and the patient's emergency monitoring system in the medical and surgical intensive room with a value of p=0.000 where p <0.05, and had a coefficient correlation value of r = 0.511 which means there is a moderate relationship with a negative relationship direction. Based on the results of this study, it can be recommended to health workers, especially nurses on duty in the intensive room that changes in consciousness can be used as an early indicator in monitoring the patient's condition. Furthermore, additional analysis is needed to determine the effect of changes in the level of consciousness on the patient's critical condition or conduct this study in other department.
