OJS Guidelines

Overview

Klabat Accounting Review (KAR) uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3.2 platform for manuscript submission, review, and publication. Authors are required to submit manuscripts through the online submission system only. Email submissions are not accepted.

Preparing Your Manuscript

Before submission, ensure that your manuscript:

  • Follows the KAR Author Template (available on the journal website).
  • Has been proofread and checked for grammar and clarity.
  • Has undergone a plagiarism check with a similarity index below 20%.
  • Is written in English and formatted using:
    • A4 paper size
    • Single spacing
    • 10 pt Century font
    • One-column layout
    • 10–30 pages in total length

Creating an Author Account

  1. Go to the journal website: https://ejournal.unklab.ac.id/index.php/kar
  2. Click Register at the top of the page.
  3. Fill in all required details, including your full name, email address, affiliation, and create a password.
  4. Select Author as your role.
  5. After registration, log in using your credentials.

Submitting a Manuscript

  1. Log in to your OJS 3.2 account.
  2. Click on the New Submission button.
  3. Follow these steps:
    • Step 1: Start – Read and agree to the journal’s submission checklist and copyright notice.
    • Step 2: Upload Submission – Upload your manuscript file in Word (.docx) format. If applicable, upload additional files such as figures, tables, or supplementary materials.
    • Step 3: Enter Metadata – Fill in the article title, abstract, keywords, author details, and references.
    • Step 4: Confirmation – Review your submission details and confirm.
    • Step 5: Finish Submission – Click Finish Submission to complete the process.

Once submitted, you will receive an email confirmation from the system.

After Submission

  • Your manuscript will undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to ensure compliance with journal scope and formatting.
  • If accepted for review, it will be assigned to at least two reviewers under a double-blind peer review process.
  • The status of your submission can be checked anytime by logging into your OJS account.

Possible status updates include:

  • Submission Received – Manuscript successfully submitted.
  • In Review – Under review by expert reviewers.
  • Revisions Required – The editor requests corrections or improvements.
  • Accepted – Manuscript accepted for publication.
  • Declined – Manuscript does not meet journal standards.

Revising Your Manuscript

If revisions are requested:

- Log in to your OJS account.

- Go to your submission dashboard.

- Download the reviewer and editor comments.

- Make the necessary revisions.

- Upload the revised version in the Revisions section and notify the editor.

Post-Acceptance Process

After acceptance:

  • The manuscript will go through copyeditingproofreading, and layout editing.
  • Authors will be sent galley proofs for final approval before publication.
  • Once approved, the article will be published online and assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).

Technical Notes for Authors

  • Use a consistent file naming convention (e.g., “AuthorName_KAR2025.docx”).
  • Do not include author-identifying information within the manuscript to ensure blind review.
  • Always check for correct formatting of tablesfigures, and references.
