Abstract

 Fasting is part of religious life in Old and New Testament times.  It is an important part of spiritual discipline, nevertheless, this spiritual admonition has been  one of the most neglected aspects for so long.  Seventh-day Adventist church is admonished to set aside days for fasting and prayer.  This article tried to identify the practice of fasting of the Old and New Testament spiritual leaders and believers, the importance of fasting, the purpose of fasting, and the right way of fasting.
