CONTRIBUTION OF ISO 9001 TO PROFITABILITY OF FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANUFACTURING FIRMS IN THE PHILIPPINES

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find answers to the pros and cons regarding to the contribution of ISO 9001:2008 certification to profitability on food and beverage manufacturing companies in the Phlippine. The study used correlational research method. Data on financial statement was obtained through 7,000 top corporation in the Philippines in 2010. Thirty three companies were selected purposively with criteria. Furthermore, normality test has been carried out to ensure data was distributed normaly. The result showed that certification of ISO 9001 was significant contribute to profitability (Net Profit Margin). Component system approach of the eight principles of ISO 9001 contributed positively and significantly to net profit margin.
